Janeite Tag: Seven Questions
Dec. 20th, 2014 12:22 amSaw this on
ever_maedhros blog and I couldn't resist to do it!
The rules:
- Thank and link back to the person who tagged you.
- Tell us how you were introduced to Jane Austen and share one fun fact about your Janeite life (this fun fact can be anything from "I stayed up all night reading Emma" to "I visited Chawton and met Anna Chancellor.").
- Answer the tagger's questions.
- Write seven questions of your own.
- Tag as few as one or as many as seven other Janeites and let them know you've tagged them.
Jane Austen was a late discovery, but I'm glad that I started my path as a Janeite at the right time. It all started when I watched the 2005 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. I think I was 16 years old when I watched it: it was love at first sight! ♥ A fun fact, even if this is not really funny, is an unpopular opinion: I don't like very much the mini-series with Colin Firth. I don't know why, it's really faithful to the book, but I think there isn't magic either the special atmoshpere that makes unique the one with Keira Knightley.
Now, to the questions!
1. Which Jane Austen character would adapt best if they were unceremoniously dumped into our time?
- Emma Woodhouse, I think! She'll have so much fun to play around the couple game! ;)
2. Which Jane Austen character do you find the most inspiring?
- Elizabeth Bennet. I envy so much her sense of humorism and her way of being witty in every situation.
3. If Pride and Prejudice were set in a country other than England, which other country would suit the story best?
- I have to say my country, Italy! I can imagine this book adapted in my little city! It'll be a perfect location!
4. If you could steal the wardrobe of any Jane Austen character in any adaption, whose wardrobe would you take?
- Caroline Bingley dressed in the 2005 adaptation are so gorgeous! And, may have her hair colour too?
5. If you could cast any British actor or actress for any Jane Austen role, who would be your first pick, and who would he or she play?
- Richard Armitage, of course! He could be a perfect Captain Wentworth.
6. Would you want to write alternate beginning or ending for one of Jane Austen's stories? If so, which story would you choose and what would you change?
- Oh, no! They're all perfect! But if I have to pick one, I'd like to write an ending for Sanditon.
7. If you could pitch a plot for a novel to Jane Austen, what would you ask her to write?
- This is a good question! Maybe the story of my life: I think it's the only way to make me marry one of her charming gentlemen.
My questions:
1. Which Jane Austen adaptation do you less like? Why?
2. Imagine a tea with Uncle Jane: what would you say to her?
3. If you could act in a Jane Austen adaptation, what book and role would you pick?
4. Have you ever "converted" anyone in a Janeite?
5. Did you ever meet anyone that resembled to a character from her books?
6. Could you imagine another period or era in wich these stories could be set?
7. Becoming Jane or Miss Austen Regrets: what's your favourite one?

Date: 2014-12-20 06:12 pm (UTC)I don't like very much the mini-series with Colin Firth. Non l'ho vista, ma non mi attira per niente. Forse perché sembra tipo antico? O forse l'attrice non convince.... Ma manco Colin, a pensarci bene... D:
I have to say my country, Italy!
OMG YES PLEASE!
Richard Armitage, of course! He could be a perfect Captain Wentworth.
EHEHEH I saw what you did there. ♥ Sono sicura che se hai scelto lui, il personaggio deve per forza essere splendido!
Maybe the story of my life

*hyperventilates* Richard Armitage would be THE BEST Wentworth in history, if he was to be cast. *sighs* Now I need this in my life! :)
Maybe the story of my life: I think it's the only way to make me marry one of her charming gentlemen.
Brilliant, simply brilliant!
I love the questions you came up with!
